UK National Parks

Earlier in the year, I posted about Celebrating 70 Years of UK National Parks where you can see more information about all of the Parks alongside many photos. Today is the actual date which marks the 70th Anniversary of our National Parks! After the 1932 mass trespass on Kinder Scout, the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act was passed in 1949 to ensure our landscapes are for everyone to enjoy and care for.

In celebration, Northumberland National Park has created an animation to tell the story behind the social and political movements which led to our UK National Parks. Take a look at this brilliant modern take on the history of our National Parks

Since the designation of the Peak District in 1951, the National Parks family has grown to ten in England – including the Broads – three in Wales and two in Scotland.

They share the 70th Anniversary of the National Parks and Access to the Countryside Act 1949 with the Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONBs), which together make up the protected landscapes in this country photos of which can be seen by following the link.

Make sure you make the most of these iconic landscapes in 2020 and beyond. There are plenty of images and locations in my Galleries and Print Shop
