Last Summer after returning from a successful photo trip to Pembrokeshire I came across a Photo Competition with the winning photograph being used on the front cover of the Visit Pembrokeshire brochure for 2016.

Visit Pembrokeshire Visitor Guide

The competition was being run by The Carrier Group who in conjunction with the Tourism Team at Pembrokeshire County Council produced the 2015 Visit Pembrokeshire brochure.  50,000 copies were produced and distributed nationally through the Tourist Information Centre network, in response to advertising and through Visit Wales coordinated market campaign. The 2016 brochure print run increased to 55,000 copies and will also be sent via direct mail to previous recipients and to key points throughout Wales.

This was an opportunity I couldn’t miss so decided to enter one of my photos from the trip.

Druidston Haven

Thanks to great support through social media the image below was eventually announced as the winner and features Druidston Haven one of my favourite photographic locations during the visit.

At low tide, it’s a long sandy beach, lying in front of high rocky cliffs facing west out into St Brides Bay. Two small streams drain onto the bathing water from steep-sided pastoral land. The bathing water lies within a Marine Special Area of Conservation and the cliffs to the north and south form part of the Newgale to Little Haven Site of Special Scientific Interest.

The Carrier Group produce visitor guides for many destinations which include Visit Cornwall, Tourism North Yorkshire, Keswick in the Lakes.

I am a big supporter of the National Parks and being able to contribute this photo to help promote the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park has been an absolute privilege and allowed me the opportunity to give something back in return for the rewarding photo trip that I had enjoyed so much.

I would like to thank The Carrier Group and Pembrokeshire County Council for running the competition and to all of you who chose it has your favourite image.

More images from other locations from this photo trip can be found in the Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion gallery where you will be able to purchase prints, canvases and downloads of your favourite locations.
